Pigeon (Commercial)

Pigeon is a short commercial animation made for a product selection and price comparison website. The premise is simple: a pigeon chooses a microwave so it does not have to migrate to warmer countries.

The decision is practical. Slightly absurd. Entirely logical within its own frame.

Situation

Instead of following instinct or tradition, the pigeon looks for a solution. Cold weather is a problem. Migration is effort. A microwave offers warmth, quickly and on demand.

The animation treats this choice seriously. There is no setup for a joke and no attempt to justify the logic. The pigeon compares options and makes a decision.

How it works

The commercial relies on a clean mismatch between natural behaviour and consumer logic. A price comparison tool, normally associated with everyday human purchases, becomes a reasonable instrument for a bird.

Nothing is exaggerated. The humour comes from the calmness with which the situation is presented and from how easily the artificial solution replaces a natural one.

Form and tone

Visually, the animation stays concise and focused. The pacing is controlled, and the actions are clear. The voice-over does not explain the idea or push it forward; it simply accompanies what is happening.

The tone remains neutral, almost instructional, which keeps the absurdity understated.

What it points to

Pigeon is not about microwaves or birds. It is about convenience, optimisation, and the quiet confidence with which modern tools promise to solve any problem — regardless of how it appeared in the first place.

The solution works. Migration becomes unnecessary.

The project was developed as a compact commercial piece, built around a single visual idea and a recognisable decision-making process.
